July 3 - Saturday Dan Nolan - Photography
A photograph is a time machine. It allows us to see a scene or an event as it happened or as we perceive that it happened. A slice of a day gone by. An enhancement of our memory. It makes no difference whether our minds remember every detail or not. The finished photograph will be our expression to all the future viewers of a slice of time in our lives and likely to never be seen exactly the same again. |
August 1 - Sunday Dory Romanoski
I will be doing a demonstration with a printing press made from an antique wringer washing “machine”. I have been enjoying the surprises I get as I paint on glass and allow the press to move the paint where it wills, having limited control of the outcome. I have a preliminary drawing of an object or scene under the glass but the process itself dictates the image. Each print is a “one of a kind” or in printmakers terms, a monoprint. As well as demonstrating the process, I’d love to share the experiance with anyone wanting to try thier own hand at the press. |
